Last night, Drake brought his ‘Would You Like A Tour’ to Portland for a performance at the Moda Center. At the beginning of the show, he decided to announce that he has officially partnered up with Nike’s Jordan Brand. This news comes off the heels of Kanye West leaving Nike to join Adidas. Later, he took to Instagram to preview the Jordan 10 and 12 OVO Stingrays.
Earlier today, Kanye West made an appearance on Shade 45 to sit down with Sway for an interview. He talks about ‘Yeezus’ tour, production, DONDA, Nike, Red Octobers, Nicki Minaj’s verse on ‘Monster’ and more. Then things got a little heated when Sway asked about why he doesn’t empower himself, causing Kanye to snap and spazz. Isaac Arzate, who ended up in OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for open heart surgery after a cardiac arrest at practice. During his recovery process, Isaac found a hobby in designing and putting flips on some of his favorite classic retro Jordan’s, giving them new life with very unique colorways. In April Isaac passed away, leaving some of his designs behind for the world. Jordan brand has decided to release the Doernbecher Air Jordan V, which feature some fresh glow in the dark technology. Although the shoe may appear to be a simple Black upper Jordan V with Icey sole, in the dark, the entire upper features a poem and words of encouragement from Isaac himself. The Air Jordan “Doernbecher” V will be available September 14th over at the Nike online shop in very limited quantities. All proceeds from the sneakers sales will go to the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Yesterday, Jordan Brand held an exclusive launch to reveal the 28th installment of the Air Jordan sneaker franchise. Legendary shoe designer Tinker Hatfield and co-designer Josh Heard set out to change the game, creating a strictly basketball technology sneaker to give players the best comfortability on the court. The new Air Jordan XX8 features a outer zip-up unit, protecting the Schoeller inside mesh, and shoe strings. The shoe also includes a responsive Nike Zoom unit and the new ‘Jordan Flight Plate”, making this the lightest sneaker in the Air Jordan franchise history. The campaign for the new J’s will kick off during the 2013 NBA All-Star weekend.
